Hummingbird Hills Winery

Live

The project

Hummingbird Hills is a husband-and-wife winery on 200 acres in the Mohawk Valley — twenty-six handcrafted wines, a tasting room, a fire pit at the edge of the vines, and workshops most weekends. The business had far more to offer than its online presence was showing.

I designed and built a multi-page custom website around how people actually plan a visit: browse the wines, check what's on this weekend, find the hours, and get in touch — from a phone, in a parking lot, on a Saturday morning. Every page was built to hold up at both sizes, as shown above.

What the site does for the business

  • A professional first impression for visitors arriving from search or social
  • Wines and the tasting room experience presented clearly, in the winery's own voice
  • Upcoming events and workshops promoted in one place customers can check
  • Hours, address, directions and booking details easy to find on any device
  • A simple, direct way to contact the winery and plan a visit

Six custom pages

Each page was designed around a different job the winery needed done — not one template repeated six times.

The work doesn't stop at launch

I host and maintain the site, monitor that it stays up and fast, and handle the updates as they come — new events, new photos, changed hours. The winery focuses on running the winery; I handle the technical side so the site never goes stale after launch.

Nonprofit Donations In Development

Lucas' Army Foundation

A nonprofit supporting children and families affected by cancer. For an organization like this, a website isn't a brochure — it's part of how the mission gets funded and how families find help.

The site is built to tell the foundation's story, show its impact, promote fundraising events, present it credibly to sponsors, and remove every barrier between a visitor and the decision to help.

Where the work has taken me so far

Projects to date have been across New York's Capital Region and Mohawk Valley. Work happens over calls, email and shared files, so location has never been the deciding factor — I take on projects wherever the fit is right.

About

Hi, I'm Roger.

I started BOYER Design Co. to help businesses get the kind of website that usually only larger companies can afford — one that's designed with care, built properly, and actually performs.

I come from an engineering background, so I think about websites the way I think about any well-built system: clean, considered, and built to last.

Every project gets my full attention from first call to launch day — and direct, honest communication the whole way through. You work with me, not a rotating account team, and nothing goes live that I wouldn't put my name on.

  • Engineering mindset
  • Obsessive attention to detail
  • Direct, honest communication
Where the perspective comes from

Travel has shaped how I approach design.

Experiencing different countries, cultures, and architecture has shown me that great design isn't just about looking good — it's about creating an experience. From modern storefronts in Germany to cafés tucked away in Italy and local businesses throughout Europe, thoughtful design tells a story, builds trust, and leaves a lasting impression.

Every place I visited had its own personality, and the best businesses reflected that through their branding and online presence. Those experiences taught me to look beyond trends and focus on what makes each business unique — and I bring that same perspective into every website I build.

Travel gave me a broader view of design; engineering taught me how to build with purpose. Combining the two means sites that don't just look modern, but communicate clearly, perform well, and help businesses grow.
